The Fort Minor moniker was first used when the rapper Mike Shinoda (rapper/producer) joined forces with producer and DJ, DJ Muggs, to form the hip-hop supergroup, The Soul Assassins. Fort Minor is a different approach to hip-hop, its lyrics based on personal feelings and emotions rather than street brawls and car chases.
